Captain’s Log: Colleen’s AVM Adventures Day 13 Part 1

Already having a synchronized nap this morning… Rehab and excitement already wore this pair OUT!

First, a big thank you to Donna for the prayer shawl! Mom loves it. I actually got it to her for Christmas, but I realized I had forgot to say something!! You can also see that she loves the colorful blanket!

Second! I am getting many, many visitation requests from all of you. I really appreciate it, I really, really do. I talked to the doctors about it and they would still like visitors to hold off until next week. This is *hopefully* the last week she’s in the ICU and on the drain, and due to the tiny infection they found there Monday, they want her exposure the outside world limited. As baby+me have been here for 13 days… we would have already shared any germs with her if we had them. They sat down with me at about 11:30AM to talk to Mom about it and explain what was happening (EEEEE! More on this later!) and Mom also asks for another week until visitors. She’s a little embarrassed about what we’re going through right now and thinks by next week she’ll feel much more up to the task. (I was only allowed to post this picture because it doesn’t show her directly…) Keep sending those messages though, she really enjoys hearing them!

She says she wants hot tea… she’s totally not allowed to have that yet… I wouldn’t even be comfortable SNEAKING it to her… but when she’s allowed, she says she wants Constant Commet… I see a care package coming on for early next week… They *think* we’ll make it to liquids around about Tuesday of next week?? Let’s see how we finish out the day…

Okay — another post later… I need to run and help with more therapy, but I’ll post more later! Someone is SUPER CRANKY about it but we’re having a G.R.E.A.T! Day!
